Many families struggle to pay for food, rent, utilities, and transportation. As a result, 1 in 3 families cannot afford diapers, which are not covered by the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This leads to many infants being in one diaper the entire day, which often results in infections and rashes. This can also cause emotional and psychological issues for parents and caregivers who then struggle to bond with their baby.
Troubled, by these facts, Catholic Charities has begun collecting diapers and wipes and has applied for different grants to purchase these necessities for families. Staff members are collecting these items, getting the word out about this program, and working with volunteers to build partnerships within the communities we serve.
Through Jet.com, nonprofit agencies are able to purchase diapers and wipes at a significantly lower price. This allows Catholic Charities to provide families, on a monthly basis, with these items. Here are four ways that you can support this program:
1. Donate through our website www.ccworc.org/donations/make-a-donation/ (Scroll down to Diaper Program)
2. Donate through http://go.jet.com/give-ccworcester – all donations go directly to the diaper program.
Please note that if you place your order through Jet.com, you will receive an email confirming shipment of your donation. This is for your records only. You will NOT receive diapers. Your donation will be delivered electronically to Catholic Charities.
3. Send a check (please put Diaper Program in the memo section) payable to Catholic Charities (10 Hammond Street; Worcester, MA 01610).
4. Donate diapers and wipes to our Worcester Office (10 Hammond Street) or Leominster Office (196 Mechanic Street).
Thank you for helping us provide for our most vulnerable!!
