Older and disabled adults maintain their independence at home by receiving home care services from homemakers and home health aides.
Locations of program staff:
Low-income adults age 55 and older learn new job skills through job placements.
The program provides employment, training and job search assistance. Participants perform up to 20 hours per week of community service work at numerous not-for-profit and government agencies.
Home-bound elders due to advanced age or disability receive a home delivered turkey dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days. Various elder agencies provide referrals and Catholic Charities volunteers deliver the meals.
People who otherwise be alone on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days are invited to the Bishop’s sit-down dinner at Saint Paul Cathedral.
