Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Worcester serves all of Worcester County. It is well-known and well-established within many communities with our central regional office located in Worcester and area regional offices located in Leominster, Southbridge, and Greater Milford. The agency began offering services in Worcester County in 1950 and became incorporated in 1951. Our agency offers a variety of social services and programs, particularly assisting the low-income and vulnerable populations as well as employed persons marginally getting by. Some of the services we provide and are known for include: emergency stabilization/homeless prevention, food pantries, case management, budget counseling and financial education, parent aide assistance/parenting workshops, adult literacy/ESL programs, a family homeless shelter, employment services, substance abuse services, immigration services, and citizenship education. Catholic Charities staff and volunteers welcome and provide assistance to people of all faiths, cultures and ages, guided by our philosophy of respecting the dignity of each person.


Member Duties : The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will assist with planning and organizing the volunteer opportunities associated with the programs of Catholic Charities Worcester County. The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will work in conjunction with the volunteer coordinator to implement policies for the volunteer program, to provide outreach to community members and parish members who may be interested in volunteering for Catholic Charities’ programs, and compose a volunteer manual and training series for volunteers of the agency. The VISTA will also assist with establishing a comprehensive tool to keep track of volunteer hours, applications, interviews, and triage possible volunteers for the agency.
